Clinical Supervision

Supervision for the work that's often left out of training

Counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers, students, and other health professionals don't always get much formal training in sex therapy, relationship therapy, or sexual health, even though these issues show up constantly in client work. I offer supervision and consultation for professionals looking to build direction, insight, and confidence in these areas.

Who I work with

I work with professionals at every stage, from students just starting out to experienced clinicians looking to deepen their expertise in this area.

My approach to supervision

Clinical supervision is mandatory in the UK as part of ongoing accreditation, and I'm a strong advocate for its importance in our field, wherever you're practicing. My supervisory style is collaborative, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive.

My primary therapeutic modality is Psychodynamic Psychotherapy: difficulties in the present are often rooted in the past, and helping clients understand those links is a meaningful step toward change. In supervision, I also draw on transference and countertransference to help unpack how relationships in the therapy room can mirror relationships outside it.

I work from a trauma-informed, non-pathologising lens, grounded in the belief that all behaviour is protective and rooted in self-preservation, and deserves to be approached with compassion rather than judgment. I also take a bio-psycho-social approach, considering the biological, psychological, and sociological factors at play in a client's experience.
